Here's a couple of links to my latest release of an original 20 year old design... Considered cutting edge and state of the art by countless magazines during the late 1980's and early 1990's, It was recently re-released as a "return of a legend" with information available at www.rcgroups.com

Welcome to Jarel Design

This brief resume will give you an idea of who I am and what I do. Following a 20+ year creative history beginning in advertising in 1983 followed by starting my own RC aircraft design and manufacturing company, creating a world land speed record vehicle, entering the motion picture special effects industry with credits including "The Power Rangers Movie", "The 5th Element" and "Star Trek IX, Insurrection", I quickly included providing prototype development and industrial design services for companies like Mattel Inc., Wild Planet Toys, Jakks Pacific, Northrop/Grumman and The Headblade Co.

As you read my resume, the picture will become clearer. What is not readily visible, is my achievements in fine art and my return to developing remotely piloted aircraft.

Enjoy your visit here as I continue to develop this site. When you do, please be sure to visit my website at www.jareldesign.com where many behind the scenes photos and video clips are available to explore.

Until next time,

Richard

Since 1985 I have been providing clients with creative design, prototype development, engineering and sculptural services. From public installation art to corporate exhibit displays, I have provided in house fabrication of one-off designs and produced limited editions (specializing in composite structures, plastics, mold making, thermoforming, pressure casting, composite vacuum bagging, Ceramics as well as providing machine shop, sheet metal and welding services). With a strong background in illustration, I am capable of presenting clients with realistic visuals that reflect and conform to real-life physics. Having traveled to Hong Kong and Schengen China working directly with overseas manufacturers as well as side-by-side collaboration with government officials, art commissions, architects and city planners I have refined my ability to provide clients with real time information and clearly understandable updates regarding the development of their projects. Having worked extensively in the deadline based entertainment industry (specializing in creating electro-mechanical and lighting special effects props including robotic creatures for film and television), I’ve become diversely fluent in theatrical and interior lighting design including the creative use of fiber optics. Since 2001, my creative efforts have focused on my love of kinetic sculpture and continuing to teach and mentor young artists, volunteering at schools and children’s museums while creating private and public installation art.

I have been working as a creative professional for over twenty years and truly love what I do. (Ask my repeat clients who keep coming back for more!) I am an intuitive, understanding and patient team player… able to lead, follow and adapt. I’m a true facilitator, welcoming budgetary and scheduling constraints, as creative motivators while creating public art works that become “destinations” rather than “decorations”. I have never missed a deadline, always exceed client’s expectations and firmly believe in the realistic use of the word: “Yes”!
